Welcome!

I’m Khamia Carter, a 25 News Anchor & Morning Producer, dedicated to delivering impactful storytelling that informs, empowers, and amplifies diverse voices.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Illinois State University, where I built a strong foundation in broadcast and digital media. My journey has included dynamic experiences such as serving as a College Associate for Fox News Media in New York City and being recognized as a Student Award-Winning Journalist at the 2024 Illinois News Broadcasters Association Convention.

I began developing my technical skills at Columbia College Chicago, gaining hands-on experience in camera operation, audio, and graphics. At Western Illinois University, I anchored and reported for News3, WIU’s live newscast, while also contributing to print journalism at The Proxy Report. At Illinois State, I grew into roles as producer, anchor, reporter, host, and weather reporter for TV-10 News—Bloomington-Normal’s only live newscast. In my final semester, I led Onyx Connect Media as President and Editor-in-Chief, producing stories that uplifted and amplified communities of color on campus. Most recently, I served as a Multimedia Journalist and Production Assistant at WPNV 106.3: Peoria’s Neighborhood Voice.

Now, as a 25 News Anchor & Morning Producer, I continue to use my platform to create meaningful stories that resonate with audiences and reflect the communities we serve.
